For Dave D.:
Just as Elzbieta has indicated that she is inundated with translation requests, so am I! I currently have approximately 14 now on my desk, and I am slowly whittling away at the pile. I hope to have all your Dubaj records completed by the end of this week.
Best Regards,
Richard

Post subject: translation aids
I have adapted a Familysearch.org document to allow the sorting of its Russian/English translations. Hopefully this helps people decipher a good bit of the documents for themselves, and Ryszard could help us with the harder exceptions (which I could add to the database), place names and handwriting. Templates of the various documents (birth, marriage, death) that could associate different parts of the documents with categories of words would help as well.

Post subject: translation please followup
Ryszard,
You can ignore my previous request to translate the 3 documents. I am started work on them myself but I could use some help with a few words that are marked in green, first with the Antonina one attached.
I know the words in lines 5,6 and 11 are associated with age but I cannot make them out precisely. Would it be possible to put them in Cyrillic so that I could add them to my translation database/document?
Otherwise the word in line 10 is the one needed to be translated. Thank you

For dsherry:
The word you need in line 10 is "after." Line 5 is "years" and line 6 is "years from birth." The letter with which you are having trouble is the "yat', " which was removed during the 1918-1921 language reforms. It was simply replaced by the "e" or 'е' and it is not available on most computer keyboards.
This entry also provides opportunities for further confusion, because the scribe or writer frequently confuses the Russian letters б д в/Б Д В, in the surname Dziubek, which he also writes as Dziuwek.
Also, I am uncertain by your handwriting, but the correct year is February 1899, not 1799. Also, Andrzej Ukrainski's occupation is a cook, "поваръ" which uses the hard sign after the final consonant. This grammatical convention was also dropped during the 20th century language reforms.
I hope this helps!
Best Regards,
Ryszard
