| Notes | My name is Karen Kania-Forehand. I was born in 1957. My maiden name is Kania and my granfather's ancestors settled in the Washington County Illinois area in the 1870's. My great grandmother was a Noncek. My grandmother's side of the family settled in the Chicago area. Her maiden name was Tenczar and her mother's maiden name was Januscek. They came to the states in the mid 1890's. I have no information about where they came from in Poland. I am not very versed in genealogy yet but I'm learning. I need to make some field trips to obtain documents and hopefully will be able to at least get an idea of what part of Poland my family lived. |
