I am began research on my paternal grandparents a couple years ago but have been largely unsuccessful. My grandparents: Franciszek Gal (barred L) from Gliczarow (b. 18 Dec 1887) and Maria Smycz (b. 2 Jul 1896) from Smycze. They were married 6 Feb 1916 (in Jersey City, NJ I believe) I found a Franz Gal arriving in NY in 1913 at age 26. The manifest lists his closest relative abroad as his father, Jendozy Gal, living in Gliczarow. Franz was a Galician farm laborer. My grandfather went by "Frank Gal" and his WWI draft card lists his birthplace as "Glicaroof" Galacia. I think that Frank's mothers name may be Antonina (from Peronin, Galicia) and his brother may be Pawel. Any hints or pointers would be appreciated. I believe that Anna Olechoski emigrated to the US as Anna Smycz and that she was my grandmother's cousin.
