My mom was born in Lubaczow, Poland (Mlodow or surrounding area) on July 23, 1922. She left for Germany in 1941 to work, and stayed there 6 years and then landed in England around 1947 where she married on Sept of 1951. Subsequently my mom with husband arrived in Canada in 1952 and naturalized there in 1958. Her Canadian citizenship states that she was born in Poland I , as their, son was born in 1956. I'm trying to figure out if I qualify for polish citizenship by descent. As well, I'm trying to figure out her ethnicity. Was she polish born in Poland, or was she Ukrainian born in Poland, and how all this would affect me in regard to getting polish citizenship by descent. I do know her birth certificate does exist somewhere in Poland. As well, in either country Germany or England there never opportunity to gain citizenship. At least that is my understanding.
