Research notes My family shows to be from Polany Surowiczne, Chotowa and Pilzno.  They immigrated to the USA c1907 & 1909. I have been researching off and on for many years with some small successes (better than none at all) and hope that I can make some more headway in my search with this website.  At this point I need to acquire films (FHL) or write for information in their towns.  The family history library doesn't show records for Chotowa but I am not sure I am searching in the correct region for where the records may be housed.  Any information, help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

My great grandfather Jozef (Josef) Kotlarz was born in Pilzno, Poland 10 March 1878 and died 9 January 1959 in Benton Harbor, Berrien Co., Michigan.  Prior to living in Michigan with his second wife he lived in East Chicago, Indiana.  Wawryzniec (Lawrence) Kotlarz is listed as his father.

My great grandmother Maryanna Pluta was born in Chotowa, Poland about June 1889. She died 29 October 1929 in East Chicago, Indiana.  She is buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, Cook Co., Illinois and is in a grave without a tombstone or marker.

My Mucha and Praschak/Parasczak line is from Polany Surowiczne.  The town no longer exists as the residents were moved out of there during WWII.   I hope to find graves that might give me little more info on my ancestors.

Thank you,
