Michal Szczotka was my Grandfather, born around 1875 in Jelesnia(hard to read on immigration list. Also lived in Milowka and Rajcza. I know that he came to Cleveland, OH first in 1905 to stay with brother Josef. Came again in 1906 to settle. He had sister named Karolina (married to Albert Pajestka) and another brother (I belive) named John and both of them also came to Cleveland. They lived around E. 33rd and 34th St. in the Josephata section and were Roman Catholic. Brothers and Sisters that stayed in Poland were Peter, Andrew, Albert, and Anna(Jedzkiewicz.) He married Katha B (Porenski (Porenska) in Poland. No history found for my Grandma other than Ellis Island records. Their children were Anna (Gorka)Frances (Janosky) John, Mary (VanLoozen) and Charles. |
