I have been doing family research for about 12 years. I have found everything I basically can in the US/Ancestry records. I am now trying to find European records and narrow my search there before my trip to Poland next year. My Great-grandmother, Julia Grams was born in 1866 in present day Poland. I have different towns/villages that she may have been born in. Posen, Golancz, or Sypniewo, Wielkopolski?? Her mother was Anna Newman and father was Wilhelm F. Grams. Her 2 brothers were Christoph (b. 1864) and John (b.1870). Her sister, Rosalia, was born in 1873. My great-grandfather, Franz Ciura, was born on Dec. 25, 1859 in Posen, Poland. he left Poland when he was 18 and moved to Germany. My great-grandfather, Adolph Knappert, was born Feb. 9, 1859 in Rogzow, Koeslin, Germany (now Poland). His parents were Christoph Knappert and Frieda Schuette. My great-great-grantfather, Franciszek Jelesynska, was born in Aug of 1855 in Poland. I do not know where in Poland, however. |
