| Research notes | My grandfather left his home in Rozwaz, Galicia, Austria (today Rozvazh, Ukraine) for America in 1914. He departed from the port of Hamburg, Germany on 30 April 1914 on the ship S.S. President Lincoln of the Hamburg-Amerika Line. He arrived at the port of New York on 14 May 1914, with the ultimate destination of Elmira, New York. His family (a wife and two children) followed in 1920. |
