I have been doing family research for a couple of years. All grandparents born in Poland, in Galicia, in the late 1800s, all immigrated to the US in the early 1900s. I am now trying to pinpoint their home parishes and sending letters to those I think may be correct. I can see a trip to Poland in the future, but I don't think I'm ready yet. I want it to be as productive as possible, so I want to be ready. Not speaking Polish makes it difficult and I may try to learn what I can. |
