Research notes My mother, Anna Salamon, was born in 1910 in Joliet IL to Albert and Catherine (Sochi) Salamon. Anna was the eldest of 10 children. The family moved back to Lubno, Poland when she was just one year old. When Anna was 19 her mother sent her back to the US, because she was a US citizen. She never saw her family again except for her brother Bruno, who, at the end of WWII, was liberated from a labor camp and came to Chicago.

My father, Edward L. Kubala, was born in Chicago to Albin and Anastasia (michalska) Kubala. According to the 1920 census, Albin was from Prussia. He did not come to the US through Ellis island, but through somewhere in South America. He made his way to ohio, where he met Anastasia.

that is as far back as I have been able to trace my family.
