My great grandfather, Martin (Marcin) Wloch and his wife Margaret Leppek
bought four of their children to America in Nov. 1879. My grandfather
was 4 years old. They settled in the Bay City MI area. I recently
coresponded with someone whose research in his tree for Wloch told him
Martin's father was Joseph (Jozef) and mother was Catherina Gwizdala in
what is now Sliwice. The attended St. Catherine of Alexandria catholic
church. Martin and Margaret were married in 1859 in Linsk, Poland.
with the help of the PTG database I was able to find Joseph and
Catherina's death year and age at death. But get an error message for
Baptisms and Marriages. My friend seems to have seen Martins Baptismal
records and said he appeared to have more children,he left some in
Poland. I am disabled and home bound and internet research has been my
only option. Any suggestions on sites that may help me researching the
late 1700's and 1800's in Poland.
