Last year I decided to start on my husband's family tree. Unfortunately, his mother and father do not know much about their families. His mother's family were fairly recent immigrants to the United States. Her father was first generation born here. They immigrated in 1902 from Iwonicz, Galicia. However, because of the immigration process their name was slightly changed from Nycz to Nytch. As well as the border changes of their township and who the king, czar or government entity changed. I have found through Ancestry.com some documents but very minimal. Because I do not know the language or a good place to start searching on my own. Any and all help is accepted and appreciated. |
