Great-gandfather John Danbruski emigrated to US (New York) from Poland in 1872, settled in Western MA. Town records say he was born in Bazinei, Poland. Can't find anything on that town. Noted that on one document he signed his name with an X, so he may not have been able to read or write, making me wonder whether he spelled his name or his home town correctly when he arrived. Any help would be appreciated. |
