Research notes My g-grandparents arrived inQueensland, Australia from Prussia in Feb 1887 aboard the vessel "Roma". Their names were Gottfried Sanewski (also spelled as Saniewski/Sanewska) b1857 and his wife Josephine Johanna (nee Prxelinski)b1854, both of Marienwerder, West Prussia.  With them travelled their two young sons Johann Paul (b1882) and Franz Anton (b1885).  They went on to have five daughters in Australia - one of whom was my grandmother Hedwig b 1895.

On the vessel "Roma" was also another couple named Eva (nee Sanewski) & her second husband Adolph Fadel.  Eva's first hsuband Martin Lukritz died prior to 1866 when she married Adolph Fadel in Prussia.  Eva and Martin's several children relocated to Australia with Adolph & Eva in 1887.

Info I found stated that Adolf Fadel was a Polish man who lived in Marienwerder, a town in what was called the Polish Corridor.  He served in the Prussian was (between the French and Prussian), and fought Napolean.  Adolf Fadel received seven medals in this war. Adolf Fadel married Eva Lukritz, a woman who had been previously married.  She spoke five different languages.  They were Danish, Russian, German x 2, and English.  She had five children from her first marriage.  They came on a sailing ship that took six months to make the journey.

I have located other Sanewski descendants who travelled to the US, and the name has been changed by deed poll there to Sanefsky.

Accoding tot he documents Gottfried Sanewski brought with him to Australia, his parents were Ludwig Sanewski and Anna Mundt.

Jospehine Johanna Przelinski's parents were Matthias Przelinski and Magdalena Klotkowa?? Magdalena was supposedly born in Greece.
