I have been researching my father's family for many years and have only just "crossed the pond" on his mother's side-Deleski/Dylewski. I have located a number of his maternal grandfather's family in the Augustow area of Podlaskie. Update 1/21-I have made a break through on his mother's mother's(Karpinski/Michniewicz) family. I found her parents names on her death certificate and have located both sides of her family in the Barglow region of Podlaskie. I have gone back to about the 1740s. His father's side-Michan is much more elusive. The first record of them in the United States has them in Stevens Point Wisconsin in 1880, by 1890 they were in Virginia Minnesota. I know they also lived in Ironwood Michigan and back to Wisconsin from censuses listing where my grandfather and his siblings were born. My great grandfather was a tailor and had a shop in Michigan and Minnesota. I have found passenger lists that may or may not be them and in the Poland, Tarnow selected Roman Catholic Diocese Church Book I have found a baptism that may be my great grandfather's.
