My paternal grandparent's, John and Angeline Breyak, immigrated from Dlugopole. Unfortunately many of the records of their lives in Poland have been been lost or misplaced. I'm trying to put this history back together. So far, I know my grandfather went by Jan Bryjak early on in his time in the US. He was born in Dlugopole on January 15, 1892 according to his grave. though I've seen places where he has written his birth year as 1889. My grandmother's maiden name, I believe, was Anicla Klikuszoski, though I am guessing this on records from the US that closely resemble those from the immigration database here. I believe that she wrote her maiden name in English as Aniela Klikowszewski and her birth is listed as May 1897 in US documents and her gravesite. |
