My grandparents were: Olga Joanna (Patrylow) Mika and Adolf "Otto" Andrew Mika. Olga was born in Kenilworth, NJ and Otto in Elizabeth, NJ. They raised their children (4) in Roselle Park, NJ.
Olga's family: Her mother was Catherine (Bara) Patrylow. She was born in 1887 in Lutcza, Poland. Her father was Maciej Bara and mother was Anna (Krupa) Bara. She had many siblings - John, Michael, Francis, Sophia, Marianna (all Bara) and Maciej Bara (born to stepmother Sophia Pitera).
Catherine Bara's father, Maciej Bara, was born in 1859 in Lutcza. He had one sister, Catherine, and two brothers John and Phillip Bara. His father was Joseph Bara, born 1819. His mother was Frances Kumorek, born 1820.
Joseph Bara, born 1819, had one brother Jacob and a sibling Frances (don't know if this is a girl or boy). His mother was Sophia Lech, born in the late 1700s and Maciej Bara, born in the late 1700s.
Back to my grandmother, Olga. Her father was Michael Patrylow (Patrylo in all the Ellis Island records). His WWII draft card says he's from Zawadka. He had two brothers come to the US - Stephan Patrylo and Mitro Patrylo. Other than that, I don't know anything about him.
My grandfather, Otto Mika...his parents were Mary Bialas and Andrew Mika (both came over from Poland). Andrew Mika's mother also came to the US - Catherine Mika. I don't know anything about Mary Bialas or where the Mika family was from in Poland.
