Research notes I am searching for info on my grandparents and great-grandparents.  I know my maternal grandfather was originally from Czahl (or Czahi or Czapi or Czapl) and that was in a part of Poland ruled by Russia.  His name was Cizewski and he later lived in Bialystok and in Lomza when he left for the US.  His name was Ksaweri and he had a brother John who also immigrated to the US.  They had a sister who stayed in Poland.  His parents were Julian Czyzewski and Emily Gronski.  Emily's sister married a future president of Poland (so we were told).

My maternal grandmother was born in the US, but her parents came from Poland.  His name was Frank Zielinski and hers was Mary Ann Duchewicz.  He immigrated first.  They were married in Poland and she immigrated later with their first-born, Helen.  I don't know where they were from and I haven't see her surname in anything I've researched.

My paternal grandmother was born in the US and her parents immigrated to the US separately and were married in the US.  I don't know if they knew each other in the old country or not.  They were from Galicia or Austria-Hungary.  His name was John Lasko and her name was Suzanne Michlik.

Any information on any of these surnames would be greatly appreciated.  It might lead me to discovering my ancestors.
