Post subject: PolishOrigins Tours Blog
While accompanying descendants of emigrants on many ancestral tours throughout Poland I have seen so many moments of joy, happiness and often deep reflections... Almost every day has been memorable and full of emotion. I thought, why not show a little of that to others...? The idea of this blog was born.
I want to record and relate here Forefathers Traces Tours of my guests (of course, always with their permission). I hope that we will be able to show you the places from the old country, small villages where our ancestors were born, lived and for which they longed after emigration. I hope it may be interesting experience not only for the people who have the luck to visit their fathers' homeland personally but also for those who are not able to do this now, but may be planning to do this in the future, or just want to see (watch and listen, too) what others have experienced.
Maybe not every day and every post we will be meeting relatives in the original houses of our gggrandparents like Louie did (click here: Sitting Down In My GGGrandfather's house for Louie's story) but I think we will have chance to experience many good emotions and better understand life of our forefathers by stepping in their footprints and meeting people living currently there.
Together with James we just started the first story in the Forefathers Traces Tours Blog.

I just read the first few days of this blog ... it is wonderful! Great pictures, funny comments, delicious-looking food, real-life genealogy searches, the next best thing to being there!
Thank you, James & Zenon, for sharing your trip with all of us.

We are after the first Forefathers Traces Tour in 2011 in Przemysl, Jaroslaw and a small family village Cieplice. This time we had a very positive experience and successes with priests, officials and, as always, with the most helpful village inhabitants in our research endeavors. Maybe we will post some pictures and videos on FTT Blog in the future.
Now you can read recently published the newest full story entitled An Aussie trying to find her Polish roots by Basia from Sydney, Australia

With Doreen's blog: A Prayer from Poland we start to publish stories told by some of our Forefathers Traces Tours guest from the lst 2011 season. There will be a few more in the coming weeks at the address: http://blog.polishorigins.com/
Below there is a short fragment of Doreen's blog:
"That day had turned into one that we would never forget. We had come so far and found both of my great grandparents’ family homes and that they were still owned by the family was indeed a miracle. As Lucyna told me over e-mail, there was a reason her grandfather had told her the family history, and she knew that even after 100 years the history was important. After the 100 years my great grandparents had left Poland, we indeed, came home again."
There are still some openings for Forefathers Traces Tours, especially in the second half of 2012. See the FTT Availability Calendar: and feel free to contact us if you think about taking trip of your lifetime with PolishOrigins .
