Post subject: What town could this be?
This is the US immigration record for my Polish great-great grandmother. This was from 1899. I'm trying to figure out what town she was from, it's in the attached image on far right, circled...Zolinowa?). If anyone could help that'd be great.

Hi Tturci,
It is possible that the letter is not "L" but rather "S." There is a ZOSINOWO which is a village in the Gmina (administrative district) of Kąkolewnica Wschodnia. This is within the Lublin Voivodeship. This would have been within the Russian partition, which does agree with the manifest.
I realize, however, that Zosinowo ends with an "O" when the place name on the manifest clearly ends with an "A."
It might be helpful if you provided a second image, that shows more of the writing on this page of the manifest. Then we could be able to make further comparisons to the handwriting.
Good luck in your search,
Sophia

Hi Trish,
Thanks! That was helpful. I can see that the handwriting changed part way through writing this manifest -- some poor scribe needed his lunch, I guess.
Hi Barb,
I think you have a good idea with Zofinowo. The problem with my suggestion of Zosinowo is that Konstancja Jankowska should have shown up in Lubgens, and she did not.
Hi Tturci,
What you may try next is looking for any siblings who might have also emigrated. Perhaps their manifests are more legible.
Best of luck in your search,
Sophia
