Post subject: Catholic church in Weigelsdorf/Wigancice
Searching for catholic church for the following:
1803 marriage
Christoph ANDERMANN + Theresa Muckin
1803 baptism
Antonius Josephus Franciscus ANDERMANN
German = Weigelsdorf / Reichenbach / Breslau / Schlesien
Polish = Wigancice / Wroclaw / Silesia
1832 burial

Same location - perhaps buried in cemetery behind church?

Hello,
Family search has the parish records. Here is the link for the 1803 index for baptism you seek:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6ZXS-FN11
The records are locked and can only be viewed from a Family Research center or participating library near you.
I will look for the others and post if I find it.
Cynthia

Here is the link with instruct how to request a record lookup. You must provide the film number and page/image number. It often works best to just provide the links I gave you for each record and that way they can see all the relevant information needed to do the lookup.
https://www.familysearch.org/en/family-history-library/record-lookup-service
Good luck,
Cynthia

Post subject: Catholic church records
This is wonderful
I'll look them over to see if I can determine actual name of church - if so, will someone be able to tell me if church still exists there & were it is located? Also, hoping to be able to decipher godparents on baptism as well as witness on marriage? With any luck this could lead to other relatives - fingers crossed.
Thanks so much!!

Post subject: Record translation
Oops, got so excited about finding these records that I just realized that I need help translating from Latin/German?
Can someone please translate or direct me on how best to approach this request?
Note: Especially interested in baptismal record - church/parish/diocese - but any/all would be great
Family search link for the index associated with baptism:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6ZXS-FN11
1803 Antonius Josephus Franciscus Andermann
Weigelsdorf / Reichenbach / Breslau / Schlesien / Preußen / Deutschland
Thanks in advance for your time & efforts

Hi Yapper,
Good to see so much progress, thanks to Cynthia and Trish!
Your records are in German. There is a running thread here on the forum, where you can ask for help with German translations. Here:

I think the church might have been in Berzdorf (in which case, Catholic). Here is the entry for Berzdorf in Meyer's Gazetteer:
https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10157024
If you follow that link, and click on the "map" tab, you will see not only Berzdorf, but also your Weigelsdorf as well as some of the other towns named in the church book image of the marriage record (Ober Kunzendorf, and Tschammerhof).
If the church was in Münsterberg, also close by, then it could have been either Catholic or Lutheran.
