Our proposal is dedicated to those lovers of traditional handicraft. Bobbin Lace making has been fading away, even here in Poland. So we are trying to keep this old art alive.
The art of laces making was brought to our country by the Italian Bona Sforza, who became the Queen of Poland in 1518. For many centuries, the skill of making beautiful doilies and decorative items was reserved only for the noble houses. In the 1900s, there were art schools in Poland (Zakopane and Bobowa) specializing in teaching this art.
During a six-day workshop (23 hours), we want to teach you the basics of Bobbin Lace making. You will be taught by a master in the field, from one of the most important centers of this art, the town of Bobowa.
The workshops will take place in the beautiful surroundings of reconstructed Galician town of the 19’th century.
Every morning we will have a few hours of practice, and in the afternoons we will show you some interesting tourist attractions, including open-air museum of Galician village, Bobowa (exhibition of bobbin laces), old castle in Stara Lubovna (Slovakia), Dunajec river raft and a few lesser-known ?hidden gems? of southern Poland.
When the 6 days workshop will end we will take you to Wieliczka and we will show you beautiful Krakow.

If you are going to participate in the workshops and your partner wants to go with you, he will be welcomed. While you will be experiencing the pleasure of lace making he can enjoy of calm of the place where we will be and in the afternoons he will travel with you and a guide.
The workshops will be organized if minimum two persons confirm their participation.
To assure high quality of learning time the group of workshop participants will not exceed 4 persons.
If you want to book the workshop as a group which is bigger than 4 persons please let us know, we will check the possibility of organizing it for you.
Cost
The total cost of PolishOriginsBobbinLacesWorkshop is 7900Polish zlotys for one person.

Please be aware that we accept payments in Polish zlotys and this amount expressed in US$ is only for information purposes, valid on the date of this offer. This cost is based on DOUBLE or TWIN room accommodation.
If you wish to stay in SINGLE room it will require the supplement of 830 Polish zlotys.
If you book the workshop as a group of three or four persons then you will be entitled to a discount of 300 Polish zlotys (PLN) for each of you.
If you are a returning PolishOrigins Tours guest or want to combine PolishOrigins Bobbin Laces Workshop with tailor-made Genealogy Tour or Family & Friends Tour then you are entitled to a discount of 500 PLN.
Discounts do not combine.
Tour cost includes:
- 23 hours of bobbin laces lessons conducted by a master in the field,
- an English speaking tour leader (days 1 to 6) and local guide in Kraków (days 7 and 8),
- all accommodations in comfortable places in pleasant surroundings,
- TWN/DBL rooms with private bath or shower,
- meals: day 1 – dinner, day 2-6 (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), day 7-8 breakfast
- transportation between cities and to the tourist attractions in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle
- sightseeing tours, as specified in the tour itinerary, hotel taxes, transfers on arrival and departure from and to the airports or hotels.
Not included in the tour cost are items of personal nature such as laundry, telephone calls, mini-bar, air transportation to and from Poland.
We can organize the workshop for you. What we need are your preferred dates. We will arrange it for you if only possible.
