On the bus to Czestochowa , we left at 7:30am, it is raining. We made it to Czestochowa by 11am. We took a tour with a monk, his name was Padre Simon.

He was sweet, funny and an excellent guide. The Black Madonna was so touching I cried. I donated 10 zl. to have the monks of Jasna Góra pray everyday at 7am for my daughter Jean’s heart surgery.

Afterwards we had a nice lunch with zurek soup and a Pączki. Delicious. Now we are on to Zakopane, should arrive by 7 pm. Stopped at a store off the highway so I bought a small bottle of Zubrowka. This is vodka popular in Poland. We are now passing the area that Saint Karol (our Polish pope) grew up. Getting very hilly.

We made it to the mountains at 7pm. This part of Poland is beautiful, high Tatra mountains and lovely chalets. We had dinner across the street, pizza with local goat cheese. Mike just loves the food here in Poland!
Fr. Simon Stefanowicz, OSPPE. (Pauline Fathers). He is on youtube, type in his name and he comes right up. 🙂
I loved the copy they had hanging at St. Ladislaus, I prayed often before it.
